For Individual Youth Ministers

YMe is there for you in the highs and lows of ministry.

Nothing is better than hands-on training. That is why our program for individual youth ministers lasts two years, and adapts to your goals, growing edges, needs of the ministry, and your long-term vision for the programs you serve.

Trainings will consist of two virtual or in-person sessions per month for two years. These trainings will be recorded so that they can be reviewed and studied after completion, either by other leaders or the youth minister themselves.

The sessions will progress through the following three sections:

  • During this portion, our goal is to get to know the youth minister, the church, the youth group, and the needs of the ministry as a whole. This will be a time where YMe will tailor the trainings to exactly where the youth minister is at, and what would be beneficial for them to learn at this time. A YMe representative will also meet with the senior pastor and relevant committees to discuss goals and growing edges in areas that they would like to see improvement.

  • This will take the majority of the first year, where YMe will provide a different training during each session. Topics will include, but are not limited to: Developing a Long-Term Mission and Vision, Leading with Intentionality, How to Teach the Gospel in Engaging Ways, Styles of Teaching, Entry Gates and Asking Good Questions, Budgeting and Stewardship, Caring for Adult and Student Leaders, Small Group Integration, Old Testament and New Testament Theology, Leading Engaging Games, Pastoral Care to Students, Student Empowerment Through Leadership, Long-Term Visioning, Leading Christ-Centered Mission Trips (if applicable), Apologetics, and a variety of other topics.

  • After trainings have concluded, YMe will assist the youth minister – in partnership with the senior pastor – to develop a long-term youth group model which is specifically designed for the students and the church they’re serving. This integration will be key to helping the church’s leadership adapt and implement changes/improvements as a collaborative team.
